5mg vs 10mg vs 25mg THC drinks: which strength is right for you?
Quick answer
Start with 5mg if you're new to THC or haven't used it in a while. Move to 10mg once you know how 5mg feels. Keep 25mg for when you already know 10mg isn't enough. Whatever the strength, drink one can slowly and wait about two hours before you decide on another: in lab studies, the effects of swallowed THC peak around 1.5 to 3 hours after you take it.
- 5mg THC + 10mg CBD: a light, social buzz. The easiest place to start.
- 10mg THC + 10mg CBD: a clear, relaxed high for people who know their tolerance.
- 25mg THC + 25mg CBD: strong. For experienced THC users, usually one can for the night.
- 60mg THC + 30mg CBD: very strong. A resealable 16oz Black Cherry can, made to sip over time or share.

5mg: the place to start
A 5mg can is the dose most first-timers should try. Expect a gentle lift and a relaxed, chatty feeling rather than a heavy high. It is also the strength to choose when you want more than one drink across an evening, as long as you leave a couple of hours between cans.
"5 mg is perfect at the end of a long day. I feel relaxed but can function to get things done."
Michelle M., Raspberry Coconut 5mg, review of November 7, 2026
Want even less? Pour half a can (2.5mg) over ice, top with soda water and keep the rest sealed in the fridge for later that day.
10mg: when 5mg feels light
10mg is double the THC with the same 10mg of CBD. Most people who drink 10mg started on 5mg and found it too gentle. In a Johns Hopkins study of 10mg, 25mg and 50mg THC brownies, the effects grew with the dose, peaked 1.5 to 3 hours after eating and lasted 6 to 8 hours. A drink is not a brownie, but the timing is a useful guide for any THC you swallow.
25mg: strong, and usually one is enough
25mg is for people who already drink THC regularly and know 10mg doesn't do much for them. Sip it slowly. It is easy to feel nothing for the first half hour, decide to have another, and then feel both.
"Watch out it is really strong, and if you have too much you can still be feeling loopy the next morning."
Marvin G., Mojito 25mg, review of October 28, 2026
25mg is also the most popular strength with our regulars: in our October 2026 customer survey, 19 of the 42 buyers who answered (45%) said 25mg is their usual can. Read more in what US THC drinkers told us.
60mg: for experienced drinkers only
The 60mg Black Cherry is a 16oz resealable can with 60mg THC and 30mg CBD. Treat it like a bottle, not a single drink: pour a measured amount, reseal it and come back to it another time, or share it. A quarter of the can is about 15mg.
How to choose your strength
- Never had THC, or not for years? 5mg. Drink half, wait an hour, then decide on the rest.
- Had 5mg and felt little? Try 10mg on a quiet night at home first.
- Regular THC user? 10mg or 25mg, depending on your usual dose from gummies or other edibles.
- Sharing with friends who drink different amounts? A 5mg Mix Pack lets everyone pace themselves, one can at a time.
Your body weight, what you've eaten and how often you use THC all change how a can feels. A big meal tends to delay the peak: in a study of 5mg and 10mg THC capsules, a high-fat meal slowed the time to peak blood levels. Our guide to how long THC drinks take to kick in covers the timing in detail.
Does the CBD make it milder?
Don't count on it. It is often said that CBD softens THC, but in two Johns Hopkins trials adding CBD to swallowed THC raised THC levels in the blood and made some effects stronger, not weaker. Those studies used more CBD than our cans contain, so the effect at our doses is unknown. Judge each can by its THC number.
THC spirits and gummies: measuring your dose
Our 200mg THC spirits come in 750ml bottles, so the dose depends on the pour: 1oz is about 7.9mg and 1.25oz is about 9.9mg. Use our THC dosing calculator to measure the pour for the dose you want. Our THC gummies come in 5mg, 10mg and 15mg strengths.

FAQ
Is 5mg of THC a lot?
No. 5mg is a low dose and a common starting point. Most people feel a light, relaxed buzz. If you have never had THC, you can start with half a can.
Is 10mg of THC too much for a beginner?
It can be. Many first-timers find 10mg stronger than they expected. Start with 5mg and move up to 10mg once you know how 5mg feels.
How strong is a 25mg THC drink?
Strong. 25mg is meant for experienced THC users. Drink it slowly and don't have a second can the same evening.
How long should I wait before having another THC drink?
About two hours. Lab studies of swallowed THC show effects peaking around 1.5 to 3 hours after you take it, so a second can too soon can stack on top of the first.
Can I split a can?
Yes. Pour what you want, reseal or cover the rest and keep it in the fridge. The 60mg Black Cherry can is resealable.
Which Little Rick drinks are zero sugar?
Raspberry Coconut and Black Cherry are zero sugar. Mojito, Piña and Raspberry Lemonade contain some sugar.
